WHO WE ARE

Committed to First-rate English Language Education

ELSA believes that the greatest obstacle to school improvement is professional isolation. As widely varying in structure and style as our member institutions may be, we share the challenges and opportunities of conducting education in France, and our commitment to first-rate English language education means that we have much to learn from one another.
Who We Are Elsa France Org

ELSA France provided a much needed network and professional support when I first started teaching here, and I want you to know the importance of the role you have in the development of international teachers.

Connect, Communicate, Cultivate and Collaborate.

Our vision is to inspire and support our member schools through educational and networking opportunities and to set a standard of reference that ensures high quality teaching and learning in English in France.

To facilitate and encourage communication, cooperation, and collaboration

To create a dynamic network of administrators, teachers, and students

To coordinate interscholastic activities for students

To offer inspiring professional growth opportunities

To share innovative resources and to provide opportunities to share resources

To liaise with regional, national, and professional entities in France.

Our Story

An informal organisation called ELSPA (English Language Schools of the Paris Area) has existed for the last twenty years acting as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas on English schooling in the Paris region. In 1996, in response to the desire of many ELSAPA member schools to enlarge the scope of the organisation, ELSPA decided to become an 1901 Association with a electd board, a budget and an office with secretarial support. In 1995, a successful one-day Teach-in for in-service teacher training was held at the CIEP, soon to become the TDD: Teacher Development Day.
